There has been so much hoopla about the Bloch Building addition to the Nelson-Atkins Museum, winning all sorts of architectural awards and all...but I have failed to see it. To me, architecture that is truly successful visually works from any angle, any time of the day.  Sadly, during the harsh realities of daylight, the exterior of the new buildings look like "butler buildings" (particularly along the Rockhill Road/east side drive).  Yes, from the south steps of the  Nelson, it works.   And apparently sunsets are spectacular, too.
